First, Pluto got reduced to a dwarf-planet, which must have been damaging to its ego, and ruined grade school mnemonics for generations to come. Thanks, International Astronomical Union!
However, today scientists have announced there may be a ninth planet after Pluto after all. Like, a proper planet!
Though based on The Guardian article, scientists are only speculating: the evidence (from gravitational anomolies) suggests a planet the size of Neptune or Earth. Yet no one has actually made an observation of this hypothetical planet so far.
It could just as easily be aliens, right?
Doubtful, but such a new discovery only reinforces how little we really know about what is even in our own back yard, nonetheless billions of light years away.
Keep searching, because the answers are out there right in front of us.
