British explorer dies miles short of goal

The UK explorer Henry Worsley died 30 miles short of his 1000 mile journey to cross the Antarctic.

Worsley was airlifted to Union Glacier base camp to be treated where it was soon discovered he was suffering from a serious infection, he was sent to Chile to undergo surgery but was soon deceased.

The former Army officer was attempting to complete the unfinished journey of Sir Earnest Shackelton’s expedition.
