The results from Super Tuesday did not come as a surprise, with Clinton and Trump the frontrunners for November. Ted Cruz had a stronger showing than expected and his delegate count is not so far behind to leave Trump completely secure in the nomination. However, unless Trump manages to somehow lose votes over the next few weeks, the options for the Republicans who cannot stand him are minimal. If they ignore the voters and put Cruz up for the nomination then Clinton will probably win because voters will protest and stay home. If there is a third-party candidate in either Trump or Cruz then Clinton will win because the Republican vote will be too divided. If the November election comes down to Clinton or Trump, people will have to choose between a far-Left and a centre-Left candidate. Still, eight months in politics is yonks where anything can happen.
